Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (airport code CLE) is a 20-minute drive from downtown Cleveland and offers 156 daily nonstop departures, serving over 60 destinations. For more information, visit their website at


International Congress and Members Meeting participants are responsible for making their own travel and accomodations reservations. The Academic Consortium has NOT enlisted the services of a third-party to make these arrangements on behalf of meeting participants. In the event you are contact by a third-party offering these services, proceed with caution as it may be a scam. 



A foreign national entering the United States is generally required to present a valid passport and visa issued by a U.S. Consular Official. Visit the U.S. Customs Border Protection for more information and identification requirements. 
What makes a passport valid?
  • Does not expire within the date parameters established by the country of issue or travel. Some countries require the passport remain valid for six months after the date of departure.
  • Has blank pages for immigration stamps, not including the final page of the visa section.
  • Is in good condition and is not damaged or torn. 



It is the sole responsibility of the attendee to take care of his/her requirements. Attendees who require entry visa must allow sufficient time for the application procedure. Visa applicants should be submitted at least 90 days before travel. 
Some countries will require visa applicants to provide supplementary information explaining the purpose of their travel, such as a letter of invitation. A link to generate a customer letter of invitation will be available in the registration confirmation email. The 2020 International Congress will not contact embassies or consulates directly of behalf of the applicant.

Attendees may use Uber or Lyft to request a ride from the airport to the venue. After getting off a flight, follow the signs to "Ground Transportation" and "Baggage Claim" for your pickup location. When ready, walk outside and look for "Passenger Pickups" or a designated area labeled, "TNC/Rideshares."

For passengers leaving the airport, CLE offers a dedicated taxicab service operated by two companies, Ace Taxi and Americab. To use the taxi service, look for the taxi entrance at the South end of the Baggage Claim. Pickups and dropoffs are made at this location only. Taxis are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. 



CLE has a consolidated rental car facility located off the airport grounds. Shuttle service is available for all rental car customers from the main terminal to the rental car facility. The rental car shuttle departs from the rental car shuttle door across from baggage claim 7.
